“I had the opportunity to attend Paul and Sam's seminar. Having been retired for 8 years I didn't have the opportunity to actually work a dog in their scenarios but I was all ears and eyes. I must say it was top shelf. The classroom portion was excellent as well. It is very enlightening when you have the chance to hear and learn from a life and death situation such as what Paul was involved in. Sam is a true dog man. Fearless when working a dog and can truly test and bring out the best in your partner. Anyone having the opportunity to attend this training should do it without question if you want to test the true capabilities of your dog. It may just be a life or death eye-opener” -Bob Campanile Stafford TWP New Jersey Retired Police Officer

“Dog training in its essence should push K9s to their limits but requires instructors that can dynamically identify these limits without adversely affecting the PD. This style of training ensures that the dogs are able to “train hard and fight easy operationally” Paul and his team have the ability to read dogs from novice through to experienced and develop training and scenarios to effectively achieve or promote this goal. Paul’s ability as a trainer and communicator are without fault but his one truly unique skill which distinguishes him from others is that he has been there and done it operationally and this level of respect is not easily achieved” -Jason Austin Queensland Police Australia

(In reference to an earlier conversation we had about one of my deployments) Your training helped me prepare for that day man. The high stress scenarios well set up to better our chances of surviving through stress your seminars changed the way I trained forever. Your testimony was an eye opener. A brother almost losing his life because a dog failed to engage. Your story has inspired a lot of us Paul. A lot of us young upcoming trainers all look up to that seminar as going way above and beyond the standard. Your calm demeanor helps show the handler that everything doesn’t always have to be so chaotic when a dogs biting but rather calm and well thought through during the stress. It’s the best training I ever received in my career in law enforcement. -Christian Losiewski K9 Police Officer / Owner/Kennel Master Real World K-9 Training

"As a young working dog professional trainer, I'm always trying to make myself better for my teams. both law enforcement/military and civilian protection dogs. Paul and the IrondogK9 Team were at the top of the list of folks I looked up to as far as credibility, and proof behind their successes. I knew I'd work with them one day. I had to. And when the opportunity arose, I was not disappointed. Attending one of their seminars with a personal dog of mine showed me so much potential in my dog through progressive exposure and myself as a trainer on things I could incorporate into my program. I couldn't be more grateful for what the IrondogK9 team taught me and I utilize the knowledge every day to make good dogs great." -Clover Austin Street -Marathon K9 Academy Owner/Trainer

“The difference between Paul and other trainers is that he can relate to operational handlers. What Paul and his team know isn't read from books or watched on TV. It's real-world training and real-world scenarios. In the seminar, I attended with Paul my abilities and that of my K9 improved to a level I didn't realize was possible within such a short period of time.” -Senior Constable Jim Griffiths General Purpose Dog Handler Queensland Police Service

“Paul’s Irondog Seminar challenges your dog team capabilities, makes you think and operate outside the box! He brings real ideas and experiences into dynamic training scenarios. His passion and desire to make you the best handler team possible is second to none! He provided me with many skills that have resulted in operational success! Thanks, Paul!” -Brett Martin - Sgt - Queensland State Dog Squad

Paul Ludwig and IronDog K9 are some of the very best trainers I ever had the pleasure to train with. They bring incredible experience, knowledge and science to the table and every minute of a seminar is filled with active learning. Having attended a large number of training seminars, both as a prospective K9 Handler and as a Handler myself, I have seen a lot of what is available out there for training. One of the best things about IronDog Seminars is the real-life scenarios they conduct. It starts the first day and gets progressively more complex and more difficult as you move through the training days. Each scenario is well thought out and is intended to convey specific training objectives. Scenarios are a great mix of environmental challenges, suspect challenges and challenges the dog must overcome. One of the most impressive parts of any IronDog Seminar is the evaluation of each K9 Team that Paul personally provides at the start of the training. When scenario-based training begins, Paul tailors each and ever scenario and situation to each Team at his seminar. This is no “one size fits all” training. Paul pushes each K9 Team past their comfort zone but is so skilled he never pushes any dog past it’s limits. At the end of the seminar, each K9 Team has gained tremendous knowledge and confidence beyond what they had when they arrived. It also allows each K9 Handler to leave the seminar knowing where their strengths and weaknesses lay and where there may be any weaknesses in their dog or their training. This allows them to return to their home base and set up additional training to address any deficiencies that may have been revealed. The amount of confidence teams leave with after this training is nothing short of remarkable. In addition to all of this, anyone who works in K9 knows that one of the most important aspects of training lies in the talents of the decoy working and training your dog. IronDog’s very own Sam is truly one of the very best decoys I have ever encountered and Bo is quickly becoming another extremely talented decoy. So not only do you get amazing scenarios and evaluations from their seminar, the very best are working your dog. I really can’s say enough about this organization. My Department turned down my training memo to attend one of Paul’s seminars. He knew how disappointed I was and how much the training at his seminar could mean to me and my dog. He personally invited me to come and watch the seminar at no cost. I took two days of leave and I can’t begin to tell you how much I gained by watching the scenarios, others working their dogs and the decoys. Paul truly cares about the safety of dog teams out there working and always is willing to help in any way he can. If you are looking for a seminar that will be specifically fit to you and your dog, will involve the best decoy and will leave you with the confidence to be road ready, I highly recommend attending an IronDog K9 Seminar. Paul, thank you for all you do for the K9 Teams on the road. Your primary goal of preparing Teams for the real world encounters we see every day and making sure these Teams are ready to face those challenges is remarkable and anyone who has ever attended your training knows that you had a lot to do with making their Team better and safer! - Deb Tupa - K9 Handler Montgomery County Police Department, Maryland

“The energy and thought that Paul brings into the training and development of dogs is second to none.... a level headed no ego type of guy that is there to do one thing bring the best out of you and your dog which has resulted in operational success… invaluable training that will not only challenge the team but will save your life” -Senior Constable Cain SIMS Queensland Police Dog Squad Australia
